Drexel Libraries to end on-site support at Queen Lane Library
July 10, 2023
As part of Drexel’s plans to centralize its health-related programs and integrate them into the main campus in University City, the Drexel University Libraries will end on-site staffed library support at Queen Lane on Friday, July 28, 2023.
Starting Monday, July 31, 2023, Drexel Libraries staff currently based full time at the Queen Lane Library will relocate to the W. W. Hagerty Library on the University City campus.
More information about the impacts of this change and the library resources and services available to the College of Medicine is below:
- After July 28, 2023, the Queen Lane library space will remain open 24/7 for access to study spaces, including group study rooms, without on-site Libraries support.
- The College of Medicine community can access Drexel’s online resources, guides and tutorials, and interlibrary loan and course reserves services.
- Librarians on the Health Sciences Team will continue to provide in-person and virtual consultations and support for faculty, staff, and students working in health professions, medicine, nursing, psychology, and public health.
- High-usage physical materials currently available in the Queen Lane Library, including course reserves materials, will be available in the W. W. Hagerty Library starting July 31, 2023. For more information on borrowing and course reserves, visit the Libraries website.
Members of the College of Medicine community are welcome and encouraged to visit the W. W. Hagerty Library for additional study space and for staffed services, including paid printing, course reserves, and in-person support. Some spaces in the New College Building in Center City are also open 24/7 for individual and group study use.
