Check out the Latest Updates to the Libraries’ Homepage Search Functionality
January 5, 2021
The Drexel University Libraries recently made a few changes to its homepage search functionality to ensure more efficient searching.
New Default Search Settings
DragonSearch's default search has been updated to include data from an expanded range of sources. Now, search results include content provided by the Libraries, as well as resources not currently licensed by the Libraries, so clients can view a more comprehensive list of relevant content.
DragonSearch connects directly to ILLiad and E-ZBorrow interlibrary loan systems, making it easy for Drexel students, faculty and staff to request access to books, journal articles and other materials not available through the Libraries.
Clients have the option to limit searches to only current licensed resources and items within the Libraries’ collections by simply unchecking the "Add results beyond your library's collection" box on the results page.
Updated eJournals Search
The Libraries also updated the eJournal search box on the homepage to ensure more efficient searching of journal titles.
The homepage search box now returns search results via DragonSearch, providing a familiar, integrated interface that is easy to navigate. The homepage search box previously directed clients searching for eJournals to BrowZine, a journal aggregation tool.
The Libraries will continue to provide access to BrowZine, which is accessible online through the A-Z Database List.
