Announcing the Winter and Spring ScholarSip Speakers
February 1, 2021
The Drexel University Libraries is excited to welcome Drexel Professors Esther Chernak and Christopher Sales as its winter and spring 2021 ScholarSip guest speakers. Both speakers will address this year’s ScholarSip theme, Responding to COVID-19 through Research and Scientific Problem-Solving.
Spring ScholarSip speaker Professor Chernak, Associate Clinical Professor in the Dornsife School of Public Health & Drexel College of Medicine, will address this year’s theme with a “food for thought” discussion about the communication needs of families and their children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN) during emergencies. Her talk will summarize findings from a mixed methods study into the content needs and preferred information sources and channels of families with CYCHSN during emergencies like the COVID-19 pandemic.
To wrap up the 2020/2021 ScholarSip series in June, Christopher Sales, Associate Professor in Drexel University's College of Engineering, will discuss a new partnership between Drexel University and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA). Drexel and SEPTA have teamed up to combat the spread of COVID-19 on public transportation through research on risk assessment, mitigation, and communication strategies to help keep riders safe and healthy.
