Drexel Libraries Adds Proceedings Papers & Book Citations Indices to Web of Science Access
August 31, 2018
The Drexel Libraries is pleased to announce the addition of two new collections to its Web of Science subscription: the Conference Proceedings Papers Citation Index and the Book Citation Index. These collections add over 10 million citation records for conference proceeding papers and 94,000 citations for books and book chapters. Over 5,000 of these newly available citations are for Drexel-generated publications.
Proceedings papers are a particularly important in the fields of electrical engineering, computer science, the social sciences, and some areas of medicine. Adding these citations will allow Drexel researchers new paths of discovery to the work of others, as well as comprehensive coverage of their own work in Web of Science.
Books and book chapters have an important role in the work of humanities and social science scholars. The Book Citation Index is the newest of the citation indexes, going back to 2005. Like the Conference Proceedings Papers Citation Index, the Book Citation Index will expand Drexel researchers’ discovery options, providing them with even more information about how their own work is being used and cited.
