Drexel University raised more than $800,000 to help further the University's academic mission during its May 24 'Day of Giving: 24 Hours of Impact' event. That included over $1,900 from 48 donors raised specifically for the Drexel Libraries in support of new initiatives, including improvements to library spaces.

The theme of this year's Day of Giving was 'break the code,' and donations from students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the University helped unlock a time capsule left by founder Anthony J. Drexel. Live events and scavenger hunts provided opportunities for donors to unlock bonus donations, while capturing the excitement of the Drexel community.

This year, as part of the university-wide Day of Giving activities, the Libraries featured an exhibit illustrating how past donations have been used to improve the facilities at Hagerty and Hahnemann Libraries. Donors were also asked to provide feedback on changes they would like to see implemented in the Libraries in the future. Feedback ranged from napping pods to improved lighting and additional charging stations.
