Libraries Reorganizing Bound Journal Collection
June 1, 2017
On Monday, June 5, 2017, the Print Resources Access Management Department will begin reorganizing the Libraries' bound journal collection located outside the University Archives office on the lower level of the W. W. Hagerty Library. During this time, Libraries staff will clean shelving units and reorganize journals (which are currently organized according to size) by alphabetical order.
The project is expected to last four weeks, including the last week of the spring term and finals week. Noise and dust from the project may affect the study tables directly in front of the shelving units, as well as nearby group study rooms (mainly rooms L-15 through L-20A). Study room L-20B will be closed for the duration of the project. Additional tables and study rooms are available on the first and second floors of the Library, and the quiet room on the lower level will remain open during the project
Reorganizing the journal collection will make it easier for library patrons to conduct research by creating one single collection. Bound journals have been filed in several areas of the library due to space constraints, and this reorganization brings all journals together in one place.
The bound journal collection will be unavailable until the project is complete. Library patrons may access these resources by submitting an interlibrary loan request through the Drexel University Libraries website by selecting 'Borrow from Other Libraries' and logging in to ILLiad. For further assistance, please visit the Library Assistance Desk on the main level of the Library.
