[The Dean's Update is a reoccurring column introducing the Libraries' monthly newsletter In Circulation.]

The beginning of the New Year coincides with the start of a new editor for In Circulation. 

Stacy Stanislaw joined the Drexel Libraries on December 12, 2016 as our Communications Manager.  She replaced Jennifer James Lee, who launched this monthly electronic newsletter in August 2011, along with other venues for communicating with those interested in the Libraries.  Uninterrupted release of the newsletter during the transition between editors is the result of the excellent support that Sarah Rich, Administrative Services Coordinator, provided to gather, write and edit articles, and to publish issues since last summer. Rounds of applause go to both Jenny and Sarah for their efforts to circulate the newsletter and provide you with news about the Libraries!

As the new editor of In Circulation, Stacy brings a familiarity with Drexel, academic libraries and publishing to this role.  A Drexel '06 graduate with a BS in Corporate Communications and English, she comes back to campus after working in editorial and publishing roles. Most recently, Stacy worked with the Taylor and Francis Group to develop marketing and communication plans to strengthen the position of digital products in the North American and Latin American markets.  Her earlier assignments at Taylor & Francis - first as a managing editor and then as a publisher -- involved responsibilities for the editorial development and marketing of over 120  journals in business, economics, sociology and library and information science.  She is also experienced in organizing and leading conferences and trade shows to promote scholarly publications, as well as presenting workshops on how to publish for prospective authors in South America.

We are delighted to welcome Stacy to the Libraries and hope that you'll send her ideas for topics to cover in future issues of this newsletter.  A Q&A interview of Stacy in this issue provides a personal introduction to one of our newest staff members.
