A new exhibit at the W.W. Hagerty Library features a selection of images related to Drexel University's 125th anniversary and the book Building Drexel: The University and Its City, 1891-2016, edited by Drexel University professors Richardson Dilworth and Scott Gabriel Knowles. Published in conjunction with the University's quasquicentennial, Building Drexel chronicles the founding of the university by Anthony J. Drexel through to the present day.

The exhibit illustrates a sampling of the chapter topics featured in Building Drexel, with photographs from the Drexel University Archives. Many of the images appear in the book, while others have been selected by Archives staff exclusively for display.

The photographs are organized by chapter topic, and each group of images is accompanied by a quote from the corresponding chapter. Eleven of the book's twenty-five chapters are represented in the exhibit. Topics include: Drexel campus architecture, the libraries, engineering, home economics, the business school, athletics, the arts, civil rights, relations with the Powelton Village neighborhood, the Vietnam War and Drexel University and the city of Philadelphia since the 1970s.
