Drexel University Libraries to Host EBLIP9 Conference; Keynote speakers announced

Drexel University Libraries is pleased to host the 9th International Evidence-Based Library & Information Practice Conference (EBLIP9) in Philadelphia on June 18 through June 21, 2017.
Members of the conference's local organizing committee, which includes several Drexel University faculty and staff, have already announced several workshops and three prodigious keynote speakers.
The international conference will kick off with a keynote speech on the importance of evidence-based practice in the library from Pam Ryan, Director for Service Development & Innovation at Toronto Public Library, on Monday, June 19, followed by a mid-conference keynote lecture on 'Data in the 21st Century Economy' from Drexel's own Yi Deng, PhD, Dean of the College of Computing & Informatics, on Tuesday, June 20.
Dr. Alison Brettle, senior lecturer and information specialist in the School of Nursing, Midwifery & Social Work at the University of Salford in Manchester, United Kingdom, will end the conference with her lecture on collecting using evidence for advocacy on the final day of the meeting.
Several pre-conference workshops have also been added to the program, including a session on using evidence-based assessment techniques to evaluate special collections and archives and another on developing and implementing assessment-based plans and strategies in the library.
