It’s Open Access Week at the Drexel Libraries!

During this week of events, we’ll share resources and events that explore this year’s theme: “The Cost of Knowledge” — from publishing sessions on how you can make your work open to workshops on creating Open Educational Resources for your classes.

Let’s move beyond conversations and catalyze change toward ways of sharing knowledge that honor the reasons we create knowledge in the first place.

Open Educational Resources (OERs) for Faculty

Celebrate Open Access Week with the Drexel University Libraries. Join Hannah Purtymun, Discovery Librarian, and Matt Sherman, Digital Curation Librarian, for an overview about Open Education Resources (OERs) and ways to incorporate them into your courses to help reduce textbook costs for students.

We will discuss the distinctions between openly licensed and freely available materials and explore the role of affordable course content in promoting student access and inclusive teaching practices.

Open Access Agreements for Drexel Authors

The Drexel University Libraries is a strong supporter of Open Access and making it easier and more affordable for Drexel authors to publish Open Access.

Currently, the Libraries has negotiated APC agreements with 11 journal publishers, including ACS, Cambridge University Press, Elsevier, Springer Nature, and Wiley.  Learn more.
