You Can Access Local, National & Global Newspapers through the Drexel Libraries
The Drexel University Libraries provides access to a wide range of local and national newspapers so Drexel students, faculty, and staff can access current and historical news articles at no cost.
The Libraries’ current holdings include trusted publications like The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and The Wall Street Journal – all available for free! Other newspapers available through the Libraries include:
- The Boston Globe
- Chronicle of Higher Education
- Financial Times
- L.A. Times
- The Business Journals (on campus or VPN only)
- Philadelphia Tribune
- USA Today
- The Washington Post

Access Made Easy with LibKey Nomad
The Libraries also offers the tool LibKey Nomad, a free browser extension that connects you to full-text journal articles, newspapers and other resources whenever they’re available.
Simply download the Libkey Nomad browser extension and then go to your favorite online newspaper. If the Libraries provides access to it, a “Read for Free from Drexel” button will appear on your screen. Click the button to connect to the appropriate page in our database list. From there, you can search for past articles or browse the current issue.
The LibKey Nomad pop-up will appear anytime you’re looking at a newspaper or journal to which the Libraries provide access.
