Drexel Libraries Announces Migration to New Search Tool User Interface

DragonSearch is getting a facelift! On March 25, 2026, the Drexel Libraries will roll out a new user interface (UI) for DragonSearch, its online catalog used to find books, journal articles, newspapers, videos and other materials.

The new UI includes a modern, accessible, and user-friendly search and discovery tool that improves the library search experience for both patrons and Libraries staff. Features and upgrades include:

  • A new, modern look and feel, including better mobile responsiveness and improved accessibility
  • A new and improved “My Library Account” that puts information on loans, requests and saved records/searches all in one place
  • Advanced search functionality and search experience, including a Natural Language Search feature, more transparent resource availability options, and an easy-to-use slide-out menu for quick access to fields and filter options

How to Prepare for the Migration

At this time, no action is needed for library users. Your “My Library Account” information will stay the same after the migration. All saved searches and records in your library account will update automatically during the migration.

However, if you bookmarked a link to DragonSearch or to individual catalog records, you will need to update them as these links will change. We encourage you to save records and searches in your “My Library Account” instead.

You may preview the new DragonSearch ahead of the migration using this preview link.

Please note that Libraries staff will continue to make updates to the system over the next few weeks, and it will look a little different on the official launch date.
