Create Your Course Reserve Reading Lists in Canvas Today
The Drexel Libraries’ course reserves tool has been integrated into the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) since the University began piloting the LMS back in 2024.
Now that the transition from Drexel Learn to Canvas is officially underway, instructors are encouraged to begin rebuilding their course reserves reading lists as soon as they have moved their courses to the new LMS.
Linking Drexel Libraries Courses Reserves in Canvas
At this time, Drexel cannot directly migrate existing reading lists from Drexel Learn to Canvas and instructors will need to rebuild all course reserves lists.
To start the process, simply link the course reserves tool (labeled Drexel Libraries Course Reserves in Canvas) to each Canvas course shell.
Detailed instructions for linking course reserves in Canvas are available in the Libraries’ course reserves instructional guide. Please note that instructions for linking to course reserves in Drexel Learn (Blackboard) and in Canvas differ. Be sure to follow the appropriate linking instructions.
Rebuilding Reading Lists
Once you have linked the Drexel Course Reserves tool to each course shell, you will be able to rebuild your reading lists. The process for creating reading lists is the same as before.
We encourage you to start this process as soon as possible to ensure you have plenty of time to build your reading lists and to ensure a smooth transition to the new LMS.
As a reminder, beginning in Fall 2026, Canvas will serve as Drexel’s primary LMS. Only a small number of courses with specific exceptions should continue to use Blackboard Learn. Blackboard Learn will officially move to view-only status on December 31, 2026.
