Co-op Spotlight: A Three Questions Game with Joseph Schindler 

In March 2026, Joseph Schindler, a junior computer engineering major, joined the Drexel Libraries as a Library Technology Assistant co-op.

As a member of the Library Integrated Technology Systems department, he helps maintain library hardware and software and troubleshoots technical issues for both library staff and patrons.

Before his co-op ends in September, we sat down with Joseph and asked him to answer three questions about his contributions to the Drexel University Libraries.

Q: Why did you want this specific co-op?​

I have always been more interested in the hardware aspects of computing, which fits this hardware support-focused role.

Q: Tell me about your favorite project or your main job responsibilities you have in this co-op.

The largest project that I have worked on… is an [inventory audit] of the Libraries’ technical equipment. I found all but a handful of items, many of which have likely been disposed of without updating the inventory. The audit included items such as laptops, [computer docking stations], and monitors. [It] excluded peripherals, such as mice and keyboards. 

The other major project I worked on was the deployment of [wall-mounted] monitors that are now in every [group] study room [in the W. W. Hagerty Library.] 

Q: Where’s your favorite spot on campus to spend your lunch break? 

I don't eat lunch most of the time and I generally make my own breakfast; however, the blue taco truck across the street [from the W. W. Hagerty Library] has acceptable birria.
