Introducing DragonSearch: The Drexel Libraries’ New Discovery Search Tool
September 9, 2020
Drexel students, faculty and staff may have noticed some changes to the Drexel Libraries’ search interface over the last few days. The Libraries is pleased to announce the launch of DragonSearch, the new discovery search tool for authoritative information resources, including books, articles, databases, library guides and research collections.
Powered by Primo VE, an Ex Libris product, this new and improved system allows our clients to search the Libraries’ authoritative information resources online right from our homepage as before, but with even more intuitive ways to discover and explore content provided by the Libraries.
Here are some of the changes Drexel Dragons will see:
- Enhanced personal account features: Members of the Drexel community will continue to log in to their personal “My Library Account” as normal. DragonSearch’s new and improved functionality allows you to create saved search and saved citations lists and set up new content alerts.
- New search options: With DragonSearch, users can limit search results with an even wider range of search attributes, including options to search by journal title, author, and ‘recently added.’
- Integrated search of Drexel-generated research and theses and dissertations: DragonSearch allows users to search not only books, journals, and databases, but also Drexel-generated theses and dissertations all in one place.
