Drexel Libraries' ScholarSip event Broadcast Live on YouTube for First Time
April 3, 2017
This quarter marked the first time the Libraries' ScholarSip event was broadcast live online via the University's YouTube channel, demonstrating the Libraries' commitment to sharing scholarship and information, regardless of physical location.
Launching the first online broadcast of ScholarSip was particularly fitting this term, given the guest speakers included Drexel University Online's Dr. Susan C. Aldridge, Senior Vice President for Online Learning at Drexel, and Kathleen Harvatt, Assistant Vice President for Strategic Outreach at Drexel University Online.
Dr. Aldridge and Ms. Harvatt (a contributor to Building Drexel: the University and its City, 1891 - 2016) provided an in-depth look at the University's virtual learning history, along with an overview of the current state of online education at Drexel and their vision for the future of online learning. A recording of their lectures are available online via YouTube.
The event drew a crowd of 37 Drexel faculty, staff and alumni in person, with six attendees joining the conversation online.
This year's ScholarSip events are part of the Drexel University's 125th anniversary celebration and are open to alumni. Presenters are contributors to Building Drexel: the University and its City, 1891 - 2016, the first comprehensive history of the University.
Don't forget to mark your calendar for the spring quarter ScholarSip event, which will be held on Monday, June 12.
