We're pleased to announce that Hahnemann Library will soon be the home to a new semi-permanent exhibit from The Drexel Collection.

The exhibit explores the link between art and medicine and the overlap of the process of analysis in both fields. Many studies have been conducted that demonstrate the benefit of using the visual analysis of art as a training tool for diagnostics, as a way for medical students to practice the skills of visual observation and communication outside the pressures of healthcare.

The exhibit displays pieces donated by Alma Dea Morani, MD. Dr. Morani donated several works of art, her own sculptures and pieces by her father, as well as artifacts from her travels abroad because she believed that students who have 'active participation with the world of art become stronger, more humane physicians.

The installation of this exhibit will happen in late March and early April. Project work will primarily be done on weekends and early a.m. to limit disruption for students, but there will be some noise associated with the work. The work area will be closed off for student use during this project.
