Digital@Drexel Presentation and Showcase Event Highlights Digital Projects at Drexel

Over a dozen digital projects were on display at the Digital@Drexel Presentation and Showcase event on Friday, November 18th at W. W. Hagerty Library. The event, hosted by Drexel University Libraries and the Digital@Drexel Group, drew attention to some of the unique digital projects underway at Drexel University. A presentation from William Ying, Ph.D., CIO and Vice President of Technology at ARTstor, began the event. Ying's presentation, 'Digital Landscape and Content Strategy in Higher Education' drew a crowd of 75 and focused on the challenges of managing digital resources and information in higher education. [view the presentation] Guests were then invited to visit the Showcase portion of the event in the atrium of W. W. Hagerty Library. Balloons, monitors, posters, and laptops filled the lobby and faculty, students and staff discussed the many different projects were on display. About Digital@Drexel Digital@Drexel is a group of individual research and teaching faculty, librarians and archivists, who create, manage and/or provide support for the unique digital content produced in research and class projects. The group has a diverse membership that works together to discuss issues of managing Drexel's digital resources across projects. Digital@Drexel began in summer 2011 after faculty members and Drexel University Libraries identified opportunities for collaborative support to manage the digital assets produced by the Drexel community.
