Plagiarism is more than just copying word-for-word what someone else has written and handing it in.

Paraphrasing someone's ideas without giving credit to that person is stealing that person's work. Just changing a few of the words is also stealing that person's work.

Computers make cutting-and-pasting text written by others easy and increases the likelihood that one will accidentally plagiarize.
