Drexel University Libraries value our patrons' privacy and actively work to keep patron borrowing and library use information confidential. The libraries comply with Pennsylvania State law (24 P.S. sec. 4428) which states:
Records related to the circulation of library materials which contain the names or other personally identifying details regarding the users of the State Library or any local library which is established or maintained under any law of the Commonwealth or the library of any university, college, or educational institution chartered by the Commonwealth or the library of any public school or branch reading room, deposit station or agency operatied in connection therewith, shall be confidential and shall not be made available to anyone except by a court order in a criminal proceeding.
Furthermore, the Drexel University Libraries adhere to the American Library Association's privacy policies and its privacy interpretation of the Library Bill of Rights. Library patrons are encouraged to take responsibility for protecting the privacy of their personal e-mail or other network accounts, their University ID numbers, and other passwords. When using library workstations, please close the browser or exit the application when you have completed your work.
