Lost and Found Policies

The Drexel University Libraries are not responsible for the security of personal items brought in to the libraries. Patrons are expected to keep their belongings, especially valuables such as cell phones, PDA's and laptops, within their sight at all times.

Items that are left behind in the libraries, or found by other patrons and turned in to library staff, will be handled as follows:

All materials found will be held at the Circulation Desks. If the item has a name or contact information, a staff member will attempt to contact the owner.

Unclaimed Items:

The following policies apply to items that are kept in the Libraries' Lost and Found without names or contact points:

  • Items will be kept in the Lost and Found until the end of the current term.
  • If unclaimed, books will be added to the Libraries' collection, passed on to a program that provides books to prison libraries, or discarded.
  • All other items will be discarded.
