About this Location
W.W. Hagerty Library, named after former Drexel University President William Walsh Hagerty, opened in 1983 and presently houses nearly half a million books, periodicals, DVDs, videos, and archival materials. The collection's strengths reflect the curricular strengths of the University City Campus: engineering, business, information science, and design and media arts, as well as general science, humanities and social sciences. Located on Hagerty's first floor, staff at the reference and circulation desks help with resources and technology. Computers, copiers, scanners, and printers are available near the reference desk. Laptops may be checked out for in-building use at the circulation desk. Collections of best sellers, popular DVDs, new books, new magazines and journals, and reference books are located on the first floor. The Bookmark Cafe, a newly-renovated with space with cafe-style seating and a coffee bar is open around the clock.
The lower level of Hagerty Library houses computer classrooms and computer labs, journals in compact shelving, and group study space. The second floor of Hagerty Library houses the circulating book collection, and provides quiet study space.
Use the Hagerty Library Group Study Room Reservation System to reserve a study room online or see which ones are available right now. Requires a Drexel ID login.
To learn more about the library's collections, please review the Hagerty Library Collection Development Policy, 2006 Revision.
